Airport Sling

I've decided that I enjoy making bags! The Airport sling is the most advanced pattern I've sewn so far, but I LOVE it! It has all the features I love: zippered top, cross body strap, pockets, zippers, and a metal turn lock :).

This was the first time I've sewn with Michael Miller canvas (from Sarah Jane's line Sommer) and it is fabulous! I lined each piece (except straps) with Pellon Shape-flex and it is the perfect weight and texture. Another first with this bag is the metal turn lock on the front pocket. It was a bit tricky with the tiny screws, but totally worth it. Of course, I had to add extra top-stitching in a contrasting color :).

Back side of bag. Just wait until you see what is inside the zippered pocket...totally love!

No need for a wallet with the credit card pockets, cash pocket, and pen holder! I love how I can just grab a few things and I'm off.

Janelle of Emmaline Bags, pattern author, has a great tutorial on her blog for adding a zipper to the top of your bag. I love zippered tops as I don't want to anything to fall out...especially my iPhone :).

This is definitely my Go-to Bag and I love it. I'm quite sure I will make another...just after I finish my huge "Must Make" list :)

Pattern: Airport Sling
Fabric: Sarah Jane: Sommer by Michael Miller fabrics (canvas weight)

Yay! I also finished a project  #13 (Airport Sling) for my Q2 goals for Finish Along

Have a great day!!!
